Music

June 25th, 2009 by Dwayne

As the summer season continues it has never been more in my thoughts than it is right now, what a mistake it was to rear down the only outdoor venue we had here in the Nashville area. I do not count the stages they set up downtown for the CMA Music Fest every year. It was a tragedy for them to sell and tear down Starwood a couple of years ago and the outdoor music scene here in the so called Music City will never be the same again.

Humor

June 18th, 2009 by Dwayne

Most people do not get my attempts at humor. I have a very dry sense of humor and it rubs most people the wrong way. Not that I care but it does. I try to be as nice as possible and then I give up and just do not give a crap any more. I say hello to everyone and if they do not respond as people in Nashville, well certain parts of it (Brentwood) tend to do. Some of the time I just grump around to see what people say. They tend to say nothing at all and that is ok with me.

Traffic

June 11th, 2009 by Dwayne

The traffic was horrible today and I fear it will not be getting any better in the near future. Who ever designed the streets of Nashville did a horrible job and the folks that followed did not do much better. Not enough lanes is our biggest problem in a lot of areas. To many cars fighting for to little space and you know what happens then. A wreck and a lot of them follow. Lets hope they build some more roads soon and make the ones that we have wider and easier for everyone to use.

First free weekend

June 4th, 2009 by Dwayne

This upcoming weekend will be our first free weekend in almost three years and we have no clue what to do with ourselves. I guess we might go to Kentucky to bet on and watch some horse races, the Belmont is this weekend and I think that Mind that Bird is going to win. It is a short trip up there and that sounds like a lot of fun plus they are having a free buffett and that is my kinda deal.

George Strait

May 28th, 2009 by Dwayne

There is not a lot on TV in the late spring and summer that get my attention, but last night on CBS they had a great tribute to George Strait. The Academy of Country Music named him as the Artist of the Decade for 2000-2009 a great award for a great country artist. I am not into country music a lot but I do love to listen to George Strait. I saw him for the first time in 1980 at a small county fair in Kansas. When we walked out I said I really liked that Amarillo song and the rest is history.
